Rosarubra x Francesco Musante – Merlot IGT Colline Pescaresi – 14.5%
Sensory Notes
Color: Bright ruby red, very dense, almost impenetrable, with good consistency.
Nose: Direct and expressive, with almost “sweet” notes and an excellent fruity presence of cherry, strawberry, and plum, along with floral hints of wildflowers and a contribution of various sweet spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate: On the palate, it shows expansive alcoholic warmth that dominates, supporting the tannins that provide structure while remaining silky and smooth.
The initial sensation is slightly mellow, which over time transitions to dryness in an environment of warmth and softness, where the olfactory notes are confirmed with a persistent sweet liqueur-like sensation, followed by delicate sapidity and a light mineral trail.
Harvest:
The unspoiled Rosarubra Oasis, nestled between the sea and the Abruzzo mountains and bordered by ancient trees, benefits from a magnificent temperature range thanks to its altitude between 300 and 500 meters. This is a land entirely governed by nature, free from human interference.
A refined and extraordinary symbiotic agriculture that respects the microbiology of the soil and plants, supporting self-production and the use of indigenous mycorrhizae that enrich soil microorganisms, strengthening healthy vineyard growth and preserving the genetic identity of our terroir.
In this medium-textured soil lies the Guyot-trained vineyard of this precious and rare line, producing a pure wine made from 100% Merlot grapes. In addition to its excellent exposure, it features a very high planting density exceeding 5000 vines per hectare, with minimal yields around 1.6 kg per vine.
During the manual October harvest, only the best grapes are selected — the precious result of biodynamic, organic, regenerative, and sustainable agriculture — ensuring total respect for the environment and ecosystem while expressing the authentic typicity of the land.
Vinification:
Vinification in temperature-controlled steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and subsequent maturation for at least 12 months in 300-liter Slavonian oak barrels. Bottled in total absence of oxygen, followed by a final period of refinement.
Food Pairing – Our Merlot:
A rare, refined, and long-lived wine, it is always a pleasure to keep in the cellar, as it will pleasantly surprise you over the years.
For those who wish to enjoy it now, we recommend serving it at 16–18°C in a large, wide-rimmed glass, uncorking it slightly before serving to allow it to open and express itself fully.
Perfect for any occasion, it can be enjoyed alone or with company, especially when paired with structured and flavorful dishes: appetizers, starters, vegetarian dishes, red meats, and medium or long-aged cheeses. Imagine rustic polenta crostini, ricotta and spinach ravioli with tomato sauce, oven-roasted pork shank, braised stew, or a medium-aged pecorino with walnuts.
