Nose: On the nose, it unfolds floral and fruity notes with aromas of violet, rose, ripe blackberry, and plum.
Taste: In the mouth, it is intense and shows consistent sensations, matching the nose, with flavors of cherry jam, cocoa, and coffee, supported by a seductive warmth and sweetness, well balanced with freshness and velvety tannins, with a long and mineral finish.
Vintage
It comes from one of the most renowned areas in Abruzzo, from an old vineyard grown on pergolas, at an ideal altitude, ensuring an impressive temperature range and a wonderful exposure.
A Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG, originating from a mid-October harvest strictly hand-picked, carried out within the framework of certified organic farming to ensure the utmost environmental respect.
Vinification
Vinification in thermo-conditioned stainless steel tanks, followed by malolactic fermentation and subsequent 6-month aging in concrete tanks and an additional 18 months in large 50 hl barrels before being bottled under complete oxygen exclusion and further aged for 6 months.
Food and Wine Pairing with our Bakán Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOCG
It needs time to unfold, so we recommend opening it shortly before serving, at a temperature between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius, in a generous glass with a wide rim.
Excellent with well-structured and flavorful dishes: appetizers, first courses, vegetarian dishes, red meat, and medium- to long-aged cheeses. An Italian antipasto platter, Spaghetti Carbonara, grilled leg of lamb, liver omelet, or aged Abruzzo Pecorino.
