Colour: A luminous ruby red with violet reflections and a discreet consistency.
Nose: very fragrant and vigorous, the fruitiness conquers you with blackberry jam, plums, sour cherries and a nice undergrowth.
Taste: on the palate you are won over by a dry softness and aligned warmth that seem to coexist in perfect harmony with a moderate freshness, a lovely minerality and magically velvety tannins. The flavour agrees perfectly with the olfactory scents and to which we could perhaps add a delicate spiciness and a slightly bitter finish.
Born in one of the most vocated areas of Abruzzo, from an old vineyard trained to Tendone, at an ideal altitude to ensure a formidable temperature range and with a magnificent exposure.
An extraordinary Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC obtained from a harvest in early October, strictly manual, of a certified organic farming, which ensures maximum respect for the surrounding environment.
A vinification carried out in thermo-conditioned steel vats followed by a malolactic fermentation and subsequent maturation for 6 months in cement tanks, and then bottling in the total absence of oxygen.
How to pair our wine Sottovento Montepulciano d’Abruzzo DOC
Serve this wine at 14-16 degrees Celsius, preferably in a large goblet, and always uncork it a little before serving so that it can open up well and express itself at its best.
Impeccable on any occasion, it can be enjoyed alone or in company, preferably with well-structured and tasty dishes: aperitifs, hors d’oeuvres, vegetarian dishes, red meats and medium- and long-aged cheeses.
Imagine Italian-style bruschette, fettuccine with porcini mushrooms, barbecued cockerel, peppers stuffed with meat or plateaus of mature cheeses.
