Recipe by Silvia Monopoli

For a refined and tasty start or end to a meal, here is a super quick recipe, paired with a red wine from Torri Cantine’s Turan range.

Preparation: 15 minutes

Cooking: 10 minutes

Difficulty: easy

Ingredients

  • 2 camembert cheese
  • 4 walnuts
  • 4 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • Currants and blackberries to taste

Preparation

Unwrap the camembert, line the bottom of the wooden box with greaseproof paper, then put the cheese back inside without the lid.

Using a small knife, cut a grid into the surface of the cheese and sprinkle with the crumbled fresh thyme and walnuts.

Place the camembert in a hot oven at 180 degrees for about ten minutes or until lightly golden brown on the surface.

Finish by drizzling the cheese with honey, more nuts and berries.

Serve the berry camembert very hot, accompanied by bread or croutons.

Pairing

We have decided to pair this dish with Turan Montepulciano D’Abruzzo DOCG, one of the organic wines from the Torri Cantine production, bright ruby red in colour, with hints of vanilla and dried fruit. Soft, round and full-bodied, Turan DOCG stands out for its remarkable harmony between freshness and fruitiness.
